Today was the submission day for my assignments, so classes ended early so i had lunch with my mum and brother. We ate at the cafè called Ice Edge Cafe, i have already talk about it briefly in the previous blog post before. However, they renovated the place and even change the look of the menu. The overall feels of the place is very comforting, the outside of the cafè has a country side feel or like those cafè along the side walk in paris or uk. The inside have more of a edgy look with metal elements and the whole black theme going on. I have to say the cafe looks better now even the menu looks nicer than before.
There is actually a lunch special going on, so for their lunch certain items are 1 for 1 so you can mix and match and they will charge the higher price one. I had the seafood glio oilo and it was really good, like on of the best agile oilo i i ever have. The seasonings we just right and you can taste the fragrance of the garlic and the chilli and the spiciness was just nice. They also used fresh prawns instead of frozen prawns, in the spagehetti they also inculde clams and squids.
My brother had the fried chicken breast meat with nacho sauce, the moment he cut into it, the sauce came oozing out and there is also a little cheese in there as when he cut into it, the cheese stretches. The chicken is also well season and goes really well with the sauce.
We also got waffle ice cream for dessert, and the ice cream flavours were tiramisu and ferrero rocher. The waffle is quite big and it is crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I personally prefer the tiramisu as i really like the taste, it taste like burnt caramel to me somehow though but i still like it. For the ferrero rocher one i think it is too much for me, it really taste like ferrero rocher but the flavours are too overpowering, however if people who likes ferrero rocher or who really love chocolate i think they will like it.
After coming here again, it makes me wanna come more times to try out the different food that they offer especially to eat the seafood again oilo again kekekkke.

Xiao Ya Tou 小丫头
We went in and was immediately attended to by the waitress and cold water was also immediately severed to us together with the menu, the staff was really friendly and even introduce their menu to us, maybe cause there was not many people at that time but their service is really good.
Side dish |
Main dish |
They serve fusion chinese food and for their lunch special actually it is not really expensive, one side dish and a main is $22 but considering the location it is at it is still quite okay. We both decided to share as we are going for dessert after that. We ordered the crispy otah as the side and it was really delicious, the otah is wrapped in the spring roll skin and it was fried till golden brown so it was really crispy on the outside. For the main we ordered a soy duck dish, the duck was well marinated in the sauce and the meat is really tender, the sauce also goes really well with the rice making you crave for more rice. The menu actually has many item that you can mix and match for to make your lunch combo.
After lunch we went to bugis and ate the snow white bingsu from Nunsongyee, it is a bingsu with cheese on the outside and horlick powder sprinkled on the shaved milk. It was really nice for the first few mouths but after that it becomes a little too much for us to handle. It was nice cause the salty cheese and the sweet milk was a good combination however if you are not a cheese lover you will get sick of eating it very soon.

Rainbow Crepe Cake
Rainbow crepe cake is really easy to make however it is quite time consuming. I follow the recipe from Eugenie Kitchen for the crepe recipe and divide the batter into 6 bowls for the different colour. You just need to add all the ingredients into the blender and blend it and you are 1/3 there already. I cook until the top of the crepe has no more runny batter, like it has all kinda cooked before i flipped it to the other side and cook for around 1 minute. After cooking the crepes, i made the cream by just simply whipping cream and a little sugar to make a simple whipping cream to spread in between the layers. I also add a drop of lemon extract to the whipping cream to make the cake a little more refreshing.

Gudetama Cookie
Jumping up on the bandwagon of everything Gudetama, i made these cookies. The recipe is from My Cupcake Addiction plain vanilla sugar cookie and i just shape them to look like gudetama. I was inspired by another blogger known as bento monster to recreate these cookies. She also have many different cookie recipe which you can follow to make the cookies.
The cookies were kind of easy to make as all you need is white, yellow and red dough. Divide the dough 2/3 for the white and 1/2 of the remainder for the yellow and red. For the bacon blanket, take some red and white dough and fold it in, do not mix it too many times or the marble effect will be gone.
After baking the cookies, let them cool down and draw the faces on using edible marker or using black gel colouring paste and a toothpick or chopstick.

I use the recipe from Kawaii Sweet World and made a simple chocolate cream filling.
I also coat the puffs with a layer of ganache but it was too thin making it like a glaze. However it still fast very nice, i really like the cream and will be experimenting it with different recipe. The cream tasted kinda like milo cream goodness, you just have to try. I actually do not really have measurements for the cream as i just eyeball the amount kekekekekek.
