Exploring the streets of Cambridge

Today, I just casually walk around the town of Cambridge alone cause my mum had to go to work. Firstly I walk all the way to the quayside to take pictures of the punts and the quay. Along the quay, there is a lot of different universities situated there.

After that, I walk down and just wander around the different lanes there, the places and lanes are interconnected together so I just walk along the different streets. While walking to the quay I walked past a shop that sell desserts and pastry, the shop emits a strong buttery scent around it and make me feel so hungry just by smelling it.

While wandering, I stumbled upon a bookstore named "Heffers" and entered it to look around, I also got some souvenirs there. I also walked to the local market located at the market square. The markets have a variety of stalls selling different things from flowers to clothes to DIY stuffs. Surrounding the market are shops such as G.A.P, Cath kidston, Marks & Spenser.

I really love the town here, everyone is really friendly and the building here are really cute and pretty. It feel like I have travel back in time, with all these beautifully design Churches, colleges. Maybe I will explore the different bridges tomorrow.

Dulcet & Studio

On christmas eve, my family came to visit me at my work place, so we went to have lunch together at a cafe called Dulcet & Studio, it was heard to be well know for their cakes. So we decided to have their lunch set meal, which consist of a cup of coffee or tea, salad, main dish, dessert, and it was only $11.80 which was really affordable as it is really filling and the portions are quite big as well. Both my mum and me had the sambal spaghetti set meal while my dad and brother have the chicken teriyaki set meal.

Look at all the cakesssssss

They also have a wide selections of desserts and we decided to buy a double cheesecake too. The salad was really refreshing and appetising, the salad dressing was really good it was sour and helps us to have more appetite. The spaghetti was nice too, it was filled with seafood such as squid, clams and prawns which adds a good chew to the spaghetti. The dessert was extraordinarily good, the dessert was Hokkaido chiffon cake and the cake was really fluffy and it goes really well with the whipped cream. The whipped cream was so light and fluffy too, it is like eating whipped condensed milk.

Guksu (국수) Restaurant

On day my family decided to go out for dinner and we had korean food for dinner. We went to Guksu Restaurant to have our dinner, they have both set meal dinner and a la carte dinner, it was almost fully packed when we went in to the store, it was lucky we made a reservation at first.

They gave us gloves to eat the fried chicken.

We ordered 2 sets of fried chicken, one soya sauce flavoured and the other the classic original flavour, we also ordered 2 hotpot from their dinner set meal and a korean seafood pancake. For the drinks we paid $3.90 and will get to enjoy free flow of drinks, however limited to a few choices only. And the special thing is that you will get to order your food through a iPad which is located on the ice of the table.

They also have complementary side dishes like kimchi, pasta salad, and other korean side dishes. The food was good, the fried chicken was the show stopper. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and even after it had turn slightly cold, it was still super crispy!! However the price is a little pricy, but the restaurant was located near town area so maybe that's why the slightly higher price. For the hotpot, you get to choose which is the soup base you will like and they type of hotpot you want, like vegetable hotpot or seafood hotpot, the price of the dinner set meal was quite affordable actually and quite worth the money.
