Daily Scoop

I went to daily scoop with my friends yesterday. It was my first time going to daily scoop so we crossed our finger and hope that we manage to find it. It was quite easy to locate the place as it was just opposite the MRT station. When we entered the shop there was no one in it yet maybe cause we were early. We went in and quickly went to order what we want. I ordered a waffle with kookie monster ice cream on top and i also have a frothy hot chocolate to go with it.

I really love the waffles, it is so soft and fluffy and as you are chewing you get a hint of honey taste in it. As for the hot chocolate, maybe because i have a sweet tooth, i find that the hot chocolate was not sweet enough for my liking, but that is just my preference. I love that they have a variety of ice cream to choose from, my friends had dark chocolate and strawberry shortcake. I would go back and try all the flavours they have there if i have the chance.

Seafood Tom Yum pasta
After chatting for a while there we decided to go to Orchard for some window shopping, we went to forever 21 and H&M our favourite shops. After walking for a while we ended at Cineleisure and we went to Pastamania for lunch, i had seafood tom yum spaghetti. It was.. okay but not spicy or sour enough though, but i love the prawns they put inside. After lunch we walked for a while more and we went home. I cannot wait to meet up with them, every time we meet up it will be full of laughter and it makes me forget about my stress and be happy and cherish the time spent with them. We planned to meet up again in February, i cannot wait for it already.

Taiwan Day 7

On day 7, we went to 三义木雕街 after our breakfast that is being provided by the hotel. At this place you get to see how people carve the wood into different display item and they also sell some of those products. There is not much things to see or do there as it is really small, but if you want to see how they carve the wood you can come and see.

After that we went to 天绿艺术中心, here you can buy the 天驴 if you want. They will also tell you a bit about 风水, the introduction is about 10 minutes long.

We then proceeded to 台北101购物中心, you can pay the entrance fee and go up to the observatory or you can just walk around the mall in it. The mall mainly has famous brands in it, they also have a supermarket and food court at the basement. It is kind of like our MBS.

For lunch we went to a 周杰伦主题餐厅 also know as 天台食堂. This is a restaurant opened by jay chow and they serve chinese cuisine. They would play his song in the restaurant and also have some of his picture around the restaurant.

We also went here to buy some pineapple back home. It was super nice but it cost about $15 SGD for 1 box of 10. Quite pricy but worth the money.

After lunch we went to our hotel and it was free and easy after that so we decided to go to a night market again for dinner. At that night we stayed at 台北花园大酒店.

Taiwan Day 6

I am finally able to write about the taiwan trip, it is only week 2 but it is so tiring, i almost go home later than usual due to all the extra lessons. I do not know how am i going to survive for another nine months....
Anyway back to the trip, on day 6 we went to 日月潭. This place is called 日月潭 because the lake looks like a sun and moon at the same time. When you board the boat, the driver will also be your guide and they would introduce you to all the buildings and scenery around the lake. The water is about 8 to 10 stories deep and there are about 28 types of fish in the lake. The scenery is quite nice too.

After that we went to 灵芝茶艺馆, they would tell you the benefits of 灵芝 and they would also tell you more about the tribes living there in the past. You can also get to buy some 灵芝 back. They said that 灵芝 has many health benefits and if you consume it for a year you will notice a difference in your body if you go for a body check up.

After lunch we arrived at 文武庙, it was said that there was an earthquake in the past and it was heading toward the temple but it suddenly turned 90 degrees in front of the temple, people say that the earthquake turned away from the temple is because of the 天驴 in the temple. They believed that the  天驴 protected the temple. My family went in and we prayed, i prayed hoping the new year would be a good one and also for my O levels.

Then we proceeded to 广兴纸寮, this is the place where they make paper. They would give you a tour around the factory and also explain how paper is made. Paper is actually made using plants fiber and different plant can produce different type of colour paper. If the plant fibre is red then the paper produce would be red too. It was so interesting, we also get to do a DIY. We made our own paper fan.

At night we went to 逢甲夜市 one of the famous night market in taiwan, it is 20 minutes away from our hotel (台中全国大饭店), if you take taxi it would cost about $160 taiwan dollars. It is the biggest night market there and it sell clothes, shoes and food too. It is famous for its 大肠包小肠.

This is super cool, the guy would shape the cotton candy into the design you want. An interesting twist to something common.

Queuing for the chicken chop.

Chicken wigs with rice stuff in it. They have two type of rice one is glutinous rice the other is tuna with onions.

One more post and it will be the last post on my trip. I cannot wait to go back to taiwan if i have another chance, i would want to go there during spring or summer though.
